Where I Want To Be

Some of you may have noticed that I’ve been a bit quiet on here recently. 

Not just on here, but I’ve also practically ignored my twitter feed and completely neglected my poor Facebook page.

And, I don’t really want to talk about why.

I’m sorry, I hope you understand. 

The good news is that I am ready to move on and start blogging regularly again. 

You never know, I may even start returning tweets, texts, emails and phone calls soon too… but one step at a time. 

I’m not a dweller.  I like to push on.  I believe things happen for a reason.

I like to feel happy. 

Happy is my happy place.

I’m not there yet, but I want to be.

So, I’m putting a plan in place. 

I need to focus on something positive. 

I need to do something good for myself… and whereas usually I would just head straight for the Mulberry concession at Selfridges, I feel I need more than a quick fix this time.

One
Healthy body, healthy mind.  I’ve gained weight again.  Too much.  I need to cut out the crisps and chocolate and I need to do some exercise. 

As I cancelled my gym membership a few months ago, and until I can persuade the Greek God(zilla) that by signing up again I will attend more than twice, you will find me walking/jogging/limping around one of our many beautiful local parks. 

The NHS website recommends a fitness programme which aims to get you from couch to 5k in 9-weeks, so the Greek God(zilla) and I are going to both give it a go.

Two
My roots can be seen from the moon.  I need a complete cut, colour and blowdry and I am booked in this weekend to see the miracle workers that are Jackie and Emily at Jo Partridge in East Dulwich.

Next week I’m having a pedicure, eyebrow threading and a bit of waxing.  I might be gone for some time…

Three
Booked a holiday – we are off to Crete with Yiayia and Papou.  A couple of weeks in the sun with my favourite boys will be complete bliss. 

Four
Get my blogging mojo back. 

This post is a start.

Like I said, I’m not there yet.

But I really want to be.

  1. Hope you are okay, lovely. Your absence has been noticed, I’ve been really missing your posts pinging into my inbox. Your loyal readers will still be here when the creative juices start flowing again.

    If it’s any consolation, my mojo has also gone missing. Don’t think there’s any point pushing yourself to write when you don’t feel like it. My action plan similar to yours though – holiday next week, haircut tomorrow, have started running again.

    hey gorge why don’t you come to zumba with me? i go to push studios just behind william rose on lordship lane. i go on a wednesday night and saturday morning. it’s hilarious and hard work all at the same time really helped me shift some lard. just over 3 stone of lard to be precise!! come on you know you want to x

    • haha, I have no rhythm but can give it a go!! Weds not good for me as do WI things but Sat mornings could work – why not?! When I get back from hols, I’ll be in.
      Now – 3 STONE???! What the heck???! You look fab xx

    I’ve been in a huge slump (a spend-all-day-in-pjs kind of slump) and actually exercise has helped me no end! It put the zing back in my step and so hope it’ll do the same for you xx

    • Oh no Alice, sorry you have been in a slump too. I am hoping exercise is the answer… although not loving it quite so much yet 😉 Still feels quite hard and I have to really push myself to get out and do it at the moment xx

  6. Hiya . Had missed you. Sorry you’re going through it. Life is full of surprises, isnt it? Lots of us struggling in the holidays – so you’re not alone. Your plans sound just right. Nothing like a change of scene – particularly a bit of sun and sea and sand etc to boost your mojo. We all need a rest sometimes and time to contemplate. Your blog is your own – to do or not do what you like with it! Big hugs XXX
