Busy blogger

It took two attempts and a lot of wrong turns to find the post office yesterday morning, so I could collect the two parcels that arrived for me while I was at work last week.

The first one was my subscription to RED magazine, although it slightly bothers me that Mr Postman couldn’t just fold that up and pop it through the letterbox… will be a bit of a nuisance if I have to go and collect it from the sorting office every month, the newsagent being much less of a faff to get to where I can just buy a copy… (my office being even less faff where I can just steal a copy…)

The second package, was a proof copy of the latest novel by Lisa Jewell, sent direct from the publisher, which I will be reviewing on this blog!  When I first started writing this blog, I had no idea that these kind of opportunities were even out there, let alone available to me.

I loved reading Ralph’s Party, her debut novel, some ten years or so ago.  So much so, I went on to read Thirtynothing, One Hit Wonder, A friend of the family and Vince & Joy.  I’m a bit rusty on my chick lit these days, (the last book I read being Mabel’s Magical Garden) but I do have high hopes for this one!

So, I’ll be a bit quiet on the blog front this week while I read The Making of Us… and RED magazine (not necessarily in that order…)

I’m reading The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton at the moment. If you haven’t already read it then I can’t recommend it enough. I’m even dreaming about the characters at night!
