A Lady Who Lunches

This is my second week at home after stepping off the hamster wheel.

I had all sorts of ideas for how I would fill the time.

I’d finally get round to sorting out the spare room, which currently homes shoes, bags, jackets and books that the Greek God(zilla) does not permit to be displayed on the shelves downstairs.

The mountain of laundry that is spilling out of its basket and trailing halfway down the stairs would be sorted, washed, dried AND ironed instead of being left to gather fluff on our bedroom floor until I am forced to wash it all again.

The kitchen drawer stuffed with takeaway menus and out of date nectar vouchers would be sifted through and organised.

I would throw out clothes that no longer fit, and toys that are no longer played with would be retired to the loft.

All the photos I had printed a few months ago would finally be put into frames and maybe even hung up somewhere.

The fridge would be fully stocked.

Recycling would be put out on the right day.

My bed would be made and sofa cushions forever plumped.

I would hoover the stairs.

I’d remember to blog again.

The reality has been slightly different.

Much nicer than expected, but I have achieved very little in my quest to be the ultimate domestic goddess.

For one thing, Zachy was still at nursery so the days were my own to do with as I pleased.

So I did.

I found things to do that pleased me EVERY DAY.

Day 1: Lunch with some very special people…

WI lunch

Day 2: Movie & Pizza date with the most special person…

Day 3: Another gorgeous lunch and a very special early birthday gift…

Day 4: Lunch in Paris with two other very special girls…

ParisDay 5: Another lunch…

WI girls

And all this before I even got started on the birthday celebrations, which were EPIC to say the very least and deserve a whole blog post of their own.

Of which you will get.

Soon.

However, Zachy has finished nursery now (cue TEARS) and the Greek God(zilla) has a couple of days off, so real life is probably going to have to wait just a little while longer.

Happy Birthday first of all! Where did you lunch in Paris? I’m having a lesson there with Learncliki and wanted somewhere quiet and relaxing – with amazing food and wine of course! Thanks in advance!
